FUNDRAISE GENIUS
Our fundraising “giving” campaign is kicking off through Fundraise Genius. Spread the word!! We are currently around $17,000. Tell family, friends, coworkers, or anyone else you might know that every little bit helps. Here is the link: https://www.fundraisegenius.com/pnhs-band
FOOTBALL GAME 9/10 – SENIOR NIGHT
Another game this Friday!!! Schedule will be a little different this week with Senior Night. But, arrival and departure will be the same: ready to go at 5:30 and we are done by 9pm. Closet will be open at 5pm to start the uniform changing process. More information to come for seniors and parents as the athletic department finalizes plans.
UNIFORM
Please look over the uniform expectations, we went over this in class. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_FUhQpsahw5d1GCh_o9r_i15FCUdVPTx/view?usp=sharing
If there were any uniform issues with fit, we’ll resolve those this week.
PLAINFIELD SOUTH MARCHING INVITATIONAL
PRELIMINARY Itinerary is available. This is a rough draft and could change. This is the longest day we would have for a local show. Packing trailers and getting buses loaded will take much more time for the first trip. And, we have to practice getting on and off of the field. I’ll post other itineraries as I get more information for the other trips.

DOT BOOKS
Students who are marching on the field are required to have their official PNHS Dot Book with them at all times on the marching field. Dot Books are graded. Part 3 will go in the gradebook next week. The grade is pass/fail, if students have it incomplete when checked, they are given an opportunity to correct it and turn it in again for full credit. Information on Dot Books is in Google Classroom and also here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/192jN1GFGxnxfnO7T_cy3x3asyWLurTTZ/view?usp=sharing
FACEMASKS
Masks are still optional outside. Outside activities are low risk. Masks are REQUIRED inside. Same for any parent volunteers. Hopefully, we do not have a need to go inside for rehearsal, but to use restrooms, get snacks, get equipment, etc., you will need to wear a mask.
DURING CLASS: Students are required to have their bell covers. If for any reason you lose yours or want an extra, Amazon and online music stores carry them in stock.
BOOSTER MEETINGS
Our next parent booster meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 6th, at 7pm. This is a great opportunity for parents to get involved with our band program, plus you can find out more about what committees parents are involved with and you can check out our financial outlook. The meeting will be online through Google Meets and the meeting invitation will be shared through email on the day of.
CALENDAR
The marching band calendar has been updated, hopefully this is final: http://www.pnhsbands.com/2021/07/26/marching-band-calendar-update/
ATTENDANCE
Expectations are now set to students needing to be in attendance to participate. A student’s grade for band can now be affected by the attendance policy. If for any reason a student needs to miss a rehearsal/practice, PARENTS need to complete this online form: http://www.pnhsbands.com/absence-request-form/
GROUP CHAT/TEXT AND SOCIAL MEDIA
Students use many platforms for group chatting, especially within sections. It is great that students socialize and help each other out with information. However, conversations and posts are liable for consequences from the school deans. Keep it appropriate! Parents and students, please report any misuse of these platforms.
MARCHING BAND FINAL PAYMENT DUE
All payments are now past due, please login to CHARMS and take care of that. Contact boosters@pnhsbands.com if you have any questions.
