SENIOR INSTRUMENTS AND MUSIC
Seniors will do a drive-thru drop off on Friday, May 8th, between 9 and 11am. You will need to relinquish any school-owned instruments, music and folders, school equipment, and guard Disney uniforms. 9th-11th graders will complete a drop off on May 19th. Logistics for that day are forthcoming.
MARCHING BAND UPDATE (Updated 5/4)
As you are well aware, we will not be attending school in-person for the remainder of the school year. Therefore, all May dates with marching band are cancelled. Our start date will be developed based on the recommendations of the government, IHSA, and our school/school district. AS OF NOW, SUMMER ACTIVITIES ARE SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Plan A is hoping we can initially meet in July, Plan B is beginning with band camp in August, and we don’t want to think about a Plan C, yet. Payments WILL NOT be due in May. We’ll reevaluate payments at a later date. MARCHING BAND MUSIC IS NOW AVAILABLE IN STUDENT RESOURCES OF THE BAND WEBSITE.
REMOTE LEARNING AND BAND
Everyday, students will need to check Google Classroom for daily assignments. Parents, you may join in on each student’s Google Classroom for every class that uses it. It’s a great way to stay up to date on their work. I know we may have conflicts in the household of computer usage, so I’m requesting that assignments get submitted at any point during the day and through the evening. Assignments will be simple, the main goal is for students to do some playing each day to maintain development of their skills. Grades and participation will be updated on Home Access Center every Monday. Students will receive an “I” if they did not complete 1 or more assignments from the week. They will get full credit for submitting all assignments with reasonable effort.
