CLASSES BEGIN
Students will not need your instrument in class for the first 2 days. We will play in class beginning Friday. The first 2 days are for some information, getting acquainted with the school day, and locker/lock checkout.
Mr. Hatcher has contacted your counselors, but you should too if your band class is incorrect. Here is the correct classes and period:
2nd Period – 9th Grade Percussion
3rd Period – 9th Grade Concert Band (Woodwinds/Brass)
4th Period – Symphonic Band
6th Period – Wind Ensemble (Wind Ensemble Study Hall will be 5B)
CAR WASH
A BIG THANK YOU to everyone involved with the car wash. Students and parents did a great job washing cars with some terrific teamwork. Thank you to Eric Lenning for organizing it all!
We washed 221 cars!!!!! Raising $3169 and still counting with pledges!
FACEMASKS
Masks are still optional outside. Outside activities are low risk. Masks are REQUIRED inside. Same for any parent volunteers. Hopefully, we do not have a need to go inside for rehearsal, but to use restrooms, get snacks, get equipment, etc., you will need to wear a mask.
DURING CLASS: Students are required to have their performance mask and bell covers. If for any reason you lose yours or want an extra, Amazon and online music stores carry them in stock.
CALENDAR
The marching band calendar has been updated, hopefully this is final: http://www.pnhsbands.com/2021/07/26/marching-band-calendar-update/
ATTENDANCE
Expectations are now set to students needing to be in attendance to participate. A student’s grade for band can now be affected by the attendance policy. If for any reason a student needs to miss a rehearsal/practice, PARENTS need to complete this online form: http://www.pnhsbands.com/absence-request-form/
GROUP CHAT/TEXT AND SOCIAL MEDIA
Students use many platforms for group chatting, especially within sections. It is great that students socialize and help each other out with information. However, conversations and posts are liable for consequences from the school deans. Keep it appropriate! Parents and students, please report any misuse of these platforms.
MARCHING BAND FINAL PAYMENT DUE
