2021 MARCHING BAND-UPCOMING
UPDATE: We would like to see all students in attendance beginning the week of the 24th. We are in need of finalizing rosters and writing the show so it is ready in time for band camp.
Speaking of BAND CAMP. We will move to full band camp! The days will run from 1-9pm, with a meal break in the middle.
WINDS: Rehearsals continue this week on Tuesday. Rehearsals will be from 6-8pm on the eastside (water tower side) of the school. Plan to arrive 15 minutes early to check-in for COVID protocols. Drop off by the tennis courts.
These rehearsals will be dedicated to movement and fitness. Students will not need their instruments. Students will need to wear athletic clothing, athletic shoes (running shoes are best), have water bottles, and you will need to bring a towel to lay down on hard surfaces such as the parking lot or gym.
Rehearsals may change places, be shortened, or cancelled, due to weather conditions and space availability.
GUARD: This is for any current 8th-11th graders interested in being in marching band for the upcoming year. Workshops will be on Thursdays from 5-8pm. Procedures: Wear a mask, have your items, and check-in with the guard instructors. Students will need to go through COVID-19 protocols with self certification when they arrive.
PERCUSSION: This is for all current 8th-11th graders planning on doing band next year. Over the next couple months, our percussion staff will be working with students and setting them up on assigned instruments for the marching season. Click here for dates and times: http://www.pnhsbands.com/percussion/
Procedures: Wear a mask, have your items, and check-in through Door Q. (Outside Band Room Door) Students will need to go through COVID-19 protocols with self certification when they arrive..
MARCHING BAND PAYMENTS
Payment #1 was DUE LAST Tuesday, May 4th. Please take care of this if you haven’t done so already. You should have received information on how to login to Charms and pay via credit card. You may also bring a check to rehearsal Tuesday made payable to PNHS Band Boosters. LEGACY BRICKS PROJECT
Current sophomore trumpet player, Travis Zumstein, is working on his Eagle project for Boy Scouts. Current members and alumni know the grassy area between the band doors and the garage door becomes a muddy mess every time it rains. This causes a whole host of issues during practice and when loading and unloading for competitions.
Travis is selling Legacy Bricks to be used to brick this area. The Legacy Bricks are a great way to commemorate your student’s years with the Marching Tigers. You can purchase a brick that will be permanently located at Plainfield North showing their name and years with the band. If you are interested in purchasing a brick, please follow the link below. Once the project is paid for, all remaining money will go to the band program at North.
