SCHEDULE CHANGES
On October 12th, we will NOT be attending the Downers Grove South show. We’ve elected to go to the Lincoln-Way show instead. This will make for a MUCH shorter and productive day for our students.
REMINDER: We moved the original October 2nd Rehearsal back to Tuesday, October 1st. This is to allow students to attend Homecoming events. This does conflict with ILMEA Auditions, however, those students will be excused to attend auditions. This has been on the newsletter for the past few weeks.
TRI-M
Tri-M (National Music Honor Society) information and application has been distributed to students. The due date for materials is September 30th. Returning members need to complete the top half of the application ONLY, new applicants must have their application completed in FULL. Late applications will not be accepted. The application is also available on the website.
ILMEA AUDITION REGISTRATION
Registration for high school auditions is DONE! Auditions are October 1st. Contact Mr. LaVallee with any questions.
SMARTMUSIC
Smartmusic assignments are posted at www.smartmusic.com with the show music. Weekly assignments are posted along with practice tracks. Scene 4 will be DUE BY OCTOBER 7TH. Submit it at home with an iPad or Computer with a microphone. Scenes 1-3 are now past due.
ULTIMATE DOT BOOK
Dot Books are past due. The soft deadline was this past Thursday. If students did not have it complete, they currently have a ZERO gradebook. The hard deadline will be on OCTOBER 7TH. At that point, ZEROs will be permanent.
ABSENCES FROM EVENTS
If a student needs to be absent from an event(such as rehearsal or performance), you must submit the absence through the form on the website. http://www.pnhsbands.com/absence-request-form/
DINING OUT FUNDRAISERS
Our next dining out fundraiser is THIS WEEK September 23rd at Culver’s. The band will receive a percentage of your purchase. http://www.pnhsbands.com/2019/09/22/dining-out-culvers-9-23-19/ October 28th-Portillo’s.
PAST DUE PAYMENTS
Those that are past due in marching band payments received an invoice via e-mail. Please take care of that ASAP. Contact Mr. Hatcher with any questions.
BOOSTER MEETINGS
These meetings are designed to help discuss supporting our band program through funding, volunteering, and music advocacy. The next General Meeting will occur on Wednesday, October 2nd at 7pm. Enter through Door P at the school.
SCRIP FUNDRAISING PROGRAM
Join our Scrip Program. Purchase gift cards from many different nationwide retailers and a rebate of that gift card and purchases goes to our band program. More details: http://www.pnhsbands.com/2019/04/07/scrip-fundraising-program/
PATRON PROGRAM
If you know someone or some business that would like to support our band program with donations, check out the link. Names and business will be recognized on the website, social media, and our concert programs. We also have opportunities to put business logos on our trailers. http://www.pnhsbands.com/patron-program/
PERCUSSION REQUIRED MATERIALS
We setup a page through Lone Star Percussion to supply percussion students with the required materials they need. Students will earn free shipping and a t-shirt when they place an order with the code PLAINFIELDCSD2019
http://www.lonestarpercussion.com/Schools/Plainfield-North-High-School/
QUINLAN AND FABISH (INSTRUMENT EQUIPMENT AND ACCESSORIES)
We have a district preferred retailer, Quinlan and Fabish, to help the needs of our students with their instruments and accessories. You may order through them and they will hand deliver items to us at our school. Also, instrument repair is highly suggested to go through Q&F. You may visit one of their locations (closest is on Rt. 30 in Montgomery), visit their website (www.qandf.com), or pick up a flyer in the band room.
